Worldteachers are working closely in partnership with the UAE education reform programme. They are currently looking for recent English / English Language / Linguistics Graduates. You will be placed to teach and train within the state school system in the UAE in one of the following Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Dubai and Umm Al Quwain.
Please note that no previous experience of teaching is required, only a good degree in English, English Language or Linguistics and the motivation to educate children.
Start dates are available in early 2020. Later dates may also be available.
The project is intended to increase student engagement and to improve the standard of English within the UAE public schools. Full training and support will be provided throughout, resulting in you being awarded a UAE teaching licence at the end of your initial contract.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Experience required
Candidates must have a sound understanding of the mechanics of the English language, with strong written and verbal communication skills. It is essential that the candidate is committed to developing as a teacher and possess a positive “can do” attitude and willingness to promote life-long learning across the Ministry of Education schools.
Education Requirements Minimum requirements:
Recent Bachelor’s degree in English, English Language or Linguistics
Language:
Excellent oral and written English is essential. The following proficiency certificates are accepted:
• IELTS 7 Academic / 7.5 General (with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill)
• Cambridge CAE (C1)
• Cambridge CPE (C2)
• EmSAT minimum of 1625
Salary:
Starting salary is 16,000AED (c.£3,400 / €3,900) per month tax free and includes living allowances.
Other benefits paid include flights and medical cover.
