Humanities Teacher - South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea
Currently covering from nursery to Year 11, the school is preparing to expanding to Years 12 and 13 with plans to commence IB classes in August 2019. This will be an exciting time to work for this employer, establishing what they hope to be an exemplary secondary school to complement their already well-established early, primary and middle years sections.
The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Humanities / Social Studies Teacher to teach; History, Geography and ‘Global Perspectives’.
Experience of teaching up to IGCSE/GCSE or higher level (A Level / IB) is required, ideally with experience of teaching both. Furthermore, experience of the International Middle Years Curriculum would be beneficial but is not essential. The successful candidate would be the subject lead for these particular subjects, so any HOD or similar experience would be beneficial.
The tax-free salary is 30million KRW – 60million KRW (c.£20,000-£40,000) depending on experience. We would expect someone with 4/5 years’ experience to be offered around 40million KRW, but each candidate will receive an offer based on their own qualifications and experience. The tax-free nature of the salary is an agreement with the government of South Korea and is available for 2 years, unlike other countries South Korea’s salaries are not always tax-free, so this is a real bonus!
