This is an excellent opportunity for a Physics Teacher at a high-performing international school in Italy starting in January 2019.
Located in the city of Monza, this international school has approximately 300 students and offers the IB curriculum from primary to senior secondary level. Their city-centre campus has been specifically designed to foster collaborative approaches to teaching and learning, and has science laboratories that fitted with state-of-the-art equipment.
The position will be primarily to teach Physics at IB Diploma level (ages 16-18), and Science at MYP level (ages 11-16). Teaching hours will be roughly 17 hours per week, with several hours per week also set aside for laboratory preparation. The contract will be until 30 June 2019.
Monza is Lombardy’s “second city” and is perhaps most famous for hosting the annual Italian Grand Prix within its walled park, the largest in Europe. It is a small city with plenty of green spaces as well as rich cultural heritage. Many of its 120,000 inhabitants chose it for its international outlook, affordable accommodation and quick rail access to the fashionable and buzzing city of Milan, as well as the world-renowned Italian lakes.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics and an appropriate teaching qualification;
- Recent experience of teaching Physics and Chemistry to ages 11-18;
- EU passport holder or possession of a valid work visa for Italy;
- Experience of or interest in contributing to Theory of Knowledge (ToK) within the IB Diploma Programme would be an advantage.
Previous experience with IB programmes is not required and official IB training will be offered, together with relocation assistance and help with the apartment search. A competitive salary will be offered.
