Worldteachers are recruiting for an internationally-focused, co-educational school in Ras Al Khaimah. They currently have a requirement for an Art teacher for an immediate start, to work in one of their two primary schools.
The school operates as a fully registered private school and is divided in to 2 campuses; one is a Primary school which follows a British-style Curriculum and at the other campus offers International Primary curriculum (IBPYP) at Primary level and also has a Secondary school which follows a modified version of the National Curriculum up until year 11 where IGCSEs are sat. Students then have the option of taking the IB and AS levels for a further 2 years. Many of the school's pupils are local to Ras Al Khaimah (approximately 60% UAE) the remaining students have come from over 60 countries, including countries as far away as Japan, Mexico, Canada and New Zealand. This has played a vital part in promoting and understanding the international mindedness of the school.
At the school, the majority of the staff are from overseas across both primary and secondary. Like their students, many of the staff have come from all corners of the world including: America, Canada, UK, South Africa and Australia to name just a few. All teachers are required to have the necessary teaching qualification and experience in their teaching specialism. Facilities include 196 classrooms, 12 science laboratories, three libraries, a three-storey media centre, two theatres, two gymnasiums, two swimming pools, two grass soccer fields, four tennis courts and outside covered play areas, and three cafeterias. The two campuses cover over 23 acres in total. There are extensive IT suites on both sites, including over 700 networked computers school-wide and Smart Board technology in most classrooms.
