Primary Teacher required for International School in Majorca, Spain to start in January 2020.
The school opened its doors in September 2016, initially offering education to children in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary Phase, growing year after year into the Secondary Phase. Currently, the school encompasses up to Year 9 and will commence their GCSE programme from 2020, with plans to offer A Levels in the future.
The school is a private international school located in a privileged setting in the vibrant heart of the North of Mallorca and has grown from strength to strength over its formative years, establishing an esteemed reputation in the community for quality, care and individualising the learning experience. The current roll stands at around 200 students. They are a 'values-based' school. The set high academic standards but aim to achieve these through the development of personal skills; namely through their character education programme as well as their life skills programme.
The school Teaching timetable is based on a 22-hour teaching week plus complimentary tasks, e.g. there are a couple of staff meetings per week and teachers have a couple of extra-curricular duties. This is significantly under the 'convenio' number of contact hours in Spain (27 is considered the maximum).
The school is looking for a Year 2 teacher from Jan – June, and from September 2020 the role will move into a Year 4 class teacher.
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and an appropriate teaching qualification in Primary Education
- EU passport holder or possession of a valid work visa for Spain.
