This is an excellent opportunity for a Biology/Chemistry Teacher who also has experience of Pastoral Care at a high-performing international school in Bratislava, Slovakia starting in September 2018.
The school’s curriculum is based on the English national curriculum adapted to an international context, with IGCSE being offered at KS4 and the IB Diploma Programme being offered at senior secondary level. Every year, over 97% of their IBDP graduates successfully pass the IB Diploma Programme with higher than the global average points achieved.
The school’s facilities include 6 science labs, a large library, and excellent sports facilities. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered, giving teachers the chance to be further involved in school life.
The position will be primarily to teach Biology and/or Chemistry at KS3 and 4 and IB Diploma level, in additional to providing Pastoral Care and acting as Key Stage Leader at KS4 and 5.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or Chemistry and an appropriate teaching qualification;
- Recent experience of teaching Biology and/or Chemistry to ages 11-18;
- Experience of teaching the IB programme and working internationally would be an advantage;
- Pastoral leadership experience is essential;
- EU passport holder or possession of a valid work visa for Slovakia.
