Are you an experienced and qualified Drama Teacher? Are you interested in a fantastic opportunity to teach in the UAE?
Worldteachers are working closely in partnership with the public schools in the UAE and their education reform programme. We are helping them recruit experienced Drama Teachers to teach in one of the following Emirates - Abu Dhabi (including Al Ain), Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Dubai and Umm Al Quwain.
These positions are for the current and next academic year. The start dates are flexible with programmes. It takes around 2 – 4 months to finalise paperwork from the interview date until the travel date to UAE. The feedback from teachers who have already started has been very positive and they are actively recommending to others to contact Worldteachers.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Required:
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree
- GPA equivalent to 'very good' (e.g., 3.0+)
- Possess excellent knowledge of the subject matter
- 2 years of full-time teaching experience
Desirable:
- Relevant Master's Degree/PhD

Salary:
The total tax free salary ranges from AED 16,000 to 21,000 (c.£3,200 - £4,200) a month. Salary is based on your qualifications and experience. Salary for most teachers is expected to be AED16,000 so you should be happy to accept that level. You have to pay for all living allowances. e.g. housing rent and transportation. Monthly accommodation costs vary – typically between AED3000-7000 for a one bed apartment. You are supported in finding your own accommodation, and the cost of this will depend on your lifestyle choices (sharing villa vs single apartment, location etc.). The remaining salary compares very well to the majority of international schools.
Other benefits:
The contract duration is 2 years with an annual rollover based on performance management. You will be given free flights (at the start and end of contract) and medical insurance for you, a spouse, and up to 3 children under the age of 18. However, there is no educational allowance paid so this is probably not suitable for teachers moving with families, unless the spouse has a well-paid job with good benefits.
You may not know your final destination until immediately prior to your arrival in UAE and you should be flexible with your choice of location. This is not a large country and most places are within an hour’s drive (or less) of each other. You will most likely be placed in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Al Ain, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or possibly Dubai. You will be provided with up to 8 nights hotel accommodation while you secure your own apartment.
Non-native English speakers will need to provide proof of their level of English reading and writing. You will need to have an IELTS certificate showing a minimum General score of 6.5 (Academic score of 6). If you have not done an IELTS test or similar, you should be confident of achieving the minimum score.
Worldteachers will help you throughout the recruitment process and be able to provide full information on the opportunity.
