Learning Support Assistant - South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea
Currently covering from nursery to Year 11, the school is preparing to expanding to Years 12 and 13 with plans to commence IB classes in August 2019. The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant to assist EAL and SEN learners across the school, to start in January 2020.
Learning Support (LS) and English as an additional language (EAL) teachers at ISK work across the school to support learners with additional learning needs. The teacher works in close conjunction with class teachers to ensure all children requiring support are identified, assessed and supported. LS/EAL teachers not only support the learners but also other teachers to support the learners. This is a full time teaching role at a school where continued professional development is required. The school follows the following curricula: IEYC, IPC, IMYC and IGCSE and A Level; LS/ EAL teachers need to develop a thorough understanding of these curricula in order to support effectively.
The tax-free salary is 30million KRW – 60million KRW (c.£20,000-£40,000) depending on experience. We would expect someone with 4/5 years’ experience to be offered around 40million KRW, but each candidate will receive an offer based on their own qualifications and experience. The tax-free nature of the salary is an agreement with the government of South Korea and is available for 2 years, unlike other countries South Korea’s salaries are not always tax-free, so this is a real bonus!
