The recruiting school is looking for a Secondary Physics Teacher (up to A Level) to start as soon as possible.
Located in the heart of Baku, Azerbaijan, the school began three years ago with a small secondary school for about 150 students. It has now grown to having four complexes and a teacher training programme as well as online learning being marketed worldwide. The school is now one of the largest English language and curriculum school in the country. Run very largely by local teachers (many of whom have taught abroad), the school is beginning to move into recruiting ex-pat teachers.
The school offers the English National Curriculum adapted for an international context, including IGCSE and A Level examinations at secondary school level. It also offers the Azerbaijani Certificate of Secondary Education.
The school’s mission is to teach students to think independently, facilitating their development through appropriate guidance. They aim to achieve this goal by creating a teacher-oriented model and incorporating new and creative techniques into their teaching. The teacher-oriented model is where the teachers are given freedom to use various tools to invoke a genuine interest in a particular subject. It also focuses on understanding the subject rather than being exam-trained. They also strive to develop the skills that allow students to analyse and think critically.
Salary is in the range £30 - 35K per annum and benefits include housing, two flights a year and medical provision.
Experience of teaching the Pearson A Level curriculum would be an advantage.
