The Capital School is the newest school to set up in Dubai and will initially open in September 2014 as a full Primary and Foundation Stage school. About Dubai
United Arab Emirates is a nation of expats – in 2010 only about 16.5% of the 8.2 million people living there were Emiratis, while everyone else had adopted the country as their home. Most of the UK expats living across the seven emirates that make up UAE are drawn to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. In recent years the numbers of UK expats moving to UAE have increased, and since 2007 more than 10,000 people a year have made the move.
As in the rest of the UAE, life in Dubai is dominated by the Islamic religion, with a mosque in almost every district. The most famous and most beautiful, the Jumeirah Mosque, is an integral part of life in Dubai.
Dubai has a tropical desert climate because of its location within the Northern desert belt. Summers are extremely hot, humid and very dry, with an average high around 40 °C, and winters are warm and short with an average high of 23 °C.
